Membership

Currently, we have 236 members, 14 are golfing members. The incentive to receive a credit to your account for introducing new members is still active.  Check with Cindy for additional details.  We encourage each and every member to reach out to friends, co-workers, and neighbors with an invite to come check out The Oaks Country Club.

We extend a very special “thank you” to Cliff and Chad Arnold who dedicated their time and effort toward mitigating several drainage problems at the Oaks.  These improvements will positively impact the Oaks many years into the future.  Please take time to express your appreciation for their efforts.

Pool News

Our lifeguards continue to be on duty Saturdays, Sundays and Monday September 2^nd11am–8pm through until the end of September. Servers will take food and drink orders poolside for your convenience.  Remember, everyone must register with the lifeguards and guests pay a $10 fee.  Please contact us if you would like to reserve the pool for parties.

Dining

The Oaks Country Club brings a relaxing atmosphere to any meal and is Open Tuesday thru Sunday from 11:00 am to 8:00 pm.

Join us for…Lunch, Dinner, Private Dining Events and Large Group Dining.

 While reservations are not required, they are highly suggested for groups of 6 or    more!

Membership

We continue to make gains in our membership but we encourage every member to invite friends, co-workers and neighbors to check out the Oaks.  We will credit your account for or each resident member.  Check with Cindy for additional details.  Our goal is to have 150 resident golf members by mid-summer.  Currently, we have 220 members, 134 are golfing members.

Special Note

We have established a policy that no food be brought in from outside vendors including banquet room events, patio and pool area.  All food must be purchased through the Oaks while on club property.  We appreciate your kind cooperation and assistance in supporting this new policy.

Tee to Green

The tee boxes will open on July 4^th for the ABCD Firecracker Scramble.  We are excited about the new tee boxes as well as the entire golf course.  It continues to be fertilized and treated for weed prevention weekly. While it may an inconvenience these steps are vital in making the Oaks the best nine hole course in Texas. Please note that the golf course is now closed every Monday for maintenance.

On the Course:

The new tee boxes are greening up nicely.  We are applying fertilizer and herbicides to push them along and clean them up.  We will be top dressing them soon to help fill in the gaps.  Hopefully we will start getting some warmer nights to help them grow.

We have put some new side rails on the bridge on #3 to help people feel more comfortable when crossing.

Chris will continue to trim trees around the course and we are working to replant and mulch the flower bed on #6 tee.

Please be aware of the new ropes and stakes around the course.  We know they can be annoying, but they are vital to continue the growth and spread of grass around our fairways.  Remember, everything we do on the course is to enhance play and your enjoyment of the game.  Please stay outside the roped areas with your carts.

Around the Clubhouse:

We kicked off “Trivia” this past month and want to congratulate our winners Sheldon & Angela Franklin and Larry & Dawn Hall.  They both received a $25 credit to their Club account.  Don’t miss our next night of “questioning” on Thursday, May 9^th.

Our L3 Employee Day was a fun success.  We had approximately 60 people visit the Club and enjoy the food and fellowship.  We will be hosting the Hunt County Regional Medical Center’s employees on Thursday, May 23^rd.

With the warmer weather, we have been able to move the Wine Wednesday Live Music to the patio.  Remember that live music is the 2^nd and 4^th Wednesday of every month.

Swimming Pool:

We will be cleaning the pool, doing a few repairs, and dusting off the pool furniture in preparation for OPENING DAY on May 25^th.

We will be hosting a Family Fun Day on Sunday, May 26^th to kick off the Summer!

Lifeguards will be on duty Tuesday – Sunday  11am-7pm and we will be providing poolside food and beverage service.  Get ready to work on your tan!

Membership:

Our membership continues to grow!  At the end of April 2018, we had 134 members and we are currently at 197.  We want to remind every member that our goal of 250 can be easily achieved with your help.  For every new member you recruit, you will receive a credit after 6 months in good standing.  Remember to invite your friends, co-workers, and complete strangers to have a visit.
