Special Thanks:

We would like to extend a very special thanks to member Dustin Stephenson for all his help with our electric project.  He has installed new lights in the cart barn and  underground power to the swimming pool, which will allow us to remove all the overhead power lines around #1 tee, the pool, and the practice area.

Also, we would like to thank Bobby Gray for helping us with our post-storm cleanup.  Bobby brought his blower from home and cleaned up the entire parking lot and the pool  deck. Thank you guys!

The lucky guys this month were Greg Sims and Anthony Yost…Greg snuck in on our last game of BINGO  and won some cash and a $20 credit from the Club.  Anthony dazzled everyone with his knowledge to take the winning prize in TRIVIA.

Tee to Green:

The new tees are being prepped for use.  We were finally able to give them an initial mowing and they will be top dressed very soon.  Also, the greens were aerified and top dressed the end of May.  The entire course is being fertilized and treated for weed prevention.  As the course dries out, we feel it is going to be in the best shape it has ever been.  These steps are vital to make The Oaks the best 9 hole course in east Texas.

Remember we have weekly scrambles at 5:30p

Wednesday – Men’s Scramble

Thursday – Couple’s Scramble

Pool News:

The swimming pool is going to be “the” cool spot for the upcoming summer.  Our lifeguards will be on duty Tuesday-Sunday 11am – 7pm.  The pool has new lights and  will remain open until the clubhouse closes in the evening.  Swim at your own risk when lifeguards are not present.

Servers will be taking food and drink orders poolside for your convenience.

The kiddie pool has been painted, we have new umbrellas with lighting, and the cabana bathrooms now have lights with new towel and toilet paper dispensers.

Remember, your guests must register with the lifeguards and pay a $5 guest fee.

If you are interested in reserving the pool for parties, please let us know.

Membership:

We keep making gains in our membership…but we want to still encourage each and  every member to reach out to friends, co-workers, and neighbors with an invite to come check out The Oaks Country Club.  The incentive to receive a credit to your account for introducing new members is still active.  Check with Chad or Cindy for additional details.

Currently, the Club has a total of 200 members.  123 of these are Full Memberships  approaching our goal of 150 by mid-summer.
